Resting quietly next to the main house in Sac Bajo, the Villa at Quinta Ixchel, is set up to accommodate individual travelers or couples. Built originally in the late 1980s, the foot print stands to the test of time. In 2019, the entire property was completely renovated with custom updates by current owner, David Hochmayr,  and flies with Caribbean colors. 

 

The heated, salt-water pool is just steps from the front door of the villa. Enjoy the kitchen with granite countertops, a two-burner cook-top stove, a king-size bed,  Smart-TV, and WiFi Internet. We provide purified drinking water, coffee, creamer, and sugar.

The main house of Quinta Ixchel, located on the same property next to the Villa, is Dave’s primary residence. When not traveling, Dave is happy to provide advice regarding the island. Poli and his wife, Gladys, who live at the gate house at the entrance of the property, are also the groundskeepers. They are wonderful people who you would only see when they are cleaning the pool, raking the beach, or tending to the gardens.  They are both home in the evenings and at night. Gladys is also an incredible cook. If you would like to have her cook food for you, she would love to do so for an extra charge. They take great pride and are very protective of the property - we are very lucky to have them. Thanks to them and the privacy of the house, the property is very secure and safe. We also have an on-site generator to power the entire property, including air conditioners.

 

The Villa at Quinta Ixchel is close to Villa Rolandis, Dolphin Discovery, and one of our favorite sea”foodie” restaurants, Mar-bella. It is easy to catch a taxi in front of the house for a short ride to town where you will find most of the shops, more incredible restaurants, and live music.

 

The Villa at Quinta Ixchel is equipped with two sets of sliding glass doors that open completely to expand your indoor-outdoor Caribbean living experience. Many of our guests rave about lunch or evening dinners under the private palapa with breathtaking views of the ocean and Cancun skyline. The villa is the perfect place for morning walks on the beach, afternoon kayaking, and faces west for beautiful sunsets. If you love the ocean, this is an excellent chance to experience it; your private beach and lounge chairs await you.
